Nico Williams is set to sign a ‘lifetime’ contract with Athletic Bilbao amid interest from a number of clubs, most notably Arsenal.

The Spain international has been linked with a move to Europe’s elite in recent seasons after impressing for both club and country, helping the Spanish side to Euro success last summer. The

22-year-old has a €58m release clause, with Arsenal, a long-time interest, and a number of other clubs considering a move for the winger.

However, they could miss out on the opportunity, with Williams set to sign a new big-money new deal with the Basque side.

According to Spanish outlet คาสิโนออนไลน์ UFABET ฝากถอนรวดเร็ว เริ่มต้นเล่นง่าย , Williams is seriously considering a “lifetime” deal that would keep him in the Basque Country for the foreseeable future.

The report suggests that he will extend his deal for several years, while also increasing his buyout clause to ensure getting him out of the club becomes more difficult for any club wanting his services. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also told Arsenal fans to forget about signing Williams in the summer, with a move extremely unlikely.

“The appreciation from Arsenal is there. Last summer Arsenal, Barcelona and also Chelsea – these three clubs tried to sign Nico Williams but the player decided to stay at Athletic Club,” he said. “One of the reasons why he decided to stay is obviously he loves the club, he loves the city, his family is there, so the relationship between Nico and Athletic Bilbao is excellent.

The report claims he will sign a multi-year extension, with a release clause included to make it harder for any clubs interested in signing him.

Meanwhile, transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano has the bad news for Arsenal fans. Forget about signing Williams this summer, as this move is unlikely to happen again.
