‘Toney’ believes ‘Bruno’ has never watched the Saudi league

Ivan Toney respects the decision of Al Ahly but believes Bruno Fernandes has never watched the Saudi league after the Manchester United captain snubbed a move to Al Hilal, arguing he still wants to play in the top competition.

Fernandes was approached by Saudi giants Al Hilal with a salary of €25 million per year but turned it down in midweek.

The 31-year-old Portuguese playmaker has explained that playing at the highest level with the Red Devils was a key reason for his stay.

When asked about the league, he replied: “The standard’s high, I always say this.

“People always judge it on not seeing it. And you have to see it first-hand to have your own opinion.

“And, if people went there and went and watched some games, they’d soon realise.

“But yeah, I know the standard. I know it’s a good standard. You would never knock it once you’ve been there. And yeah, it is tough.”

With Toney revealing his plans to continue plying his trade at the Riyadh outfit next term, he admitted he was not concerned by how this could potential affect his chances of making England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

However, Toney, who joined Saudi side Al Ahly from Brentford last summer, disagrees.

“It’s Bruno’s decision, he might have a different opinion to me,” the 29-year-old England striker told reporters in the national team camp. เล่นเกมคาสิโน UFABET ทันสมัย ฝากถอนง่าย “It’s clear that Bruno has never watched the league but I respect his decision. “

I have always said that the league is difficult and the standards are high but people often judge without watching us play. You have to watch it yourself to know what the league is like.”
