The chairman of Malaysian car company Perodua has revealed that Manchester United have been approached to discuss sponsoring the club.

“I don’t usually say this in public, but I’m an Arsenal supporter. If I did that, it wouldn’t be fair to my Arsenal team,” he joked.

He said that any sponsorship proposal, be it within Malaysia or elsewhere, would need careful consideration.

He also said that the interest from Manchester United was indicative of Perodua’s growth internationally, adding: “We will look into it.”

Back in March last year, United signed up Malaysia Airlines as the club’s official airline.
